History

The Beginning

Founded in 1942, Pennwood Products manufactures high quality, prefinished hardwood moldings. Other products include thin strip flooring, unfinished hardwood moldings, RetroTreads,® RetroRisers,TM and premium wood fuel pellets. Pennwood premium wood pellets are a true "green" heat source recycled from wood fibers accumulated from our sawing, machining and sanding processes.

We continuously strive to exceed our customer’s expectations in quality, delivery, and price through continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality control, and customer interaction.

A Strategic Location

Situated on more than sixteen acres of land in south central Pennsylvania, this geographic location is strategic to a good lumber supply and to serving the densely populated Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern states. The factory is approximately a two hour drive from Philadelphia and Washington and one and one-half hour drive from the port of Baltimore. This port gives excellent access and competitive containerized freight rates to Europe, Asia, and all parts of the world.

A Quality Workforce

We have a highly skilled and loyal workforce, many whom have been with Pennwood for years. Some of our employees are second generation Pennwood family, continuing and carrying on the tradition of Pennwood excellence. In April of 2002, a third generation of family joined Pennwood, namely, Kraig N. Coxon, the son of Newell Coxon, Jr. Kraig holds the position of Executive Vice President.
